Tips for Your Summer Sessions

Summer is upon us and summer classes are still starting up for many of you. Here is a tip to consider when setting up your summer session classes: disable your Customer Portal Registrations. If you are one of the many businesses that do not charge a registration fee for summer classes, you may want to temporarily disable this in your Customer Portal until fall sessions begin.

  • Go to Tools > Customer Portal Manager.
  • Under the "Student Registration Rules" tab, turn OFF, new student registrations.
  • Don't forget to re-enable registrations prior to accepting new registrations for fall.

You can still handle registrations manually, through incoming orders, but the automated registrations will be disabled.

Its Time to Prepare for Your Fall Sessions

There is no better time to prepare for your fall classes than when things are slowing down for summer. Here are some ideas and tips to help you prepare for fall:

  • Add a new session to your preferences – If you like to organize your classes using Session labels, then make sure you have a "Fall" or "2018 Fall" session added to your Preferences > Class Sessions/Groups page. These labels for your classes help to group classes together and are also useful in your Class Stores for listings.
  • Create your new classes – Create all of your new fall classes by either creating them from scratch or using the copy of mass class copy tools. Leave the classes as "inactive" until you are ready to offer them for enrollment.
  • Create a new class store, or update an existing store – If you are listing your classes online for parents to select, create new class stores or update your existing stores to get them ready to show these new classes you've created. You can leave the stores "inactive" until ready to start taking enrollments for fall.
