System Security – Manage Access to Your ClassJuggler Data

Powerful security features to protect you and your important customer data

Our Customer Support department receives a lot of calls from clients on how to set up specific access privileges for their staff and teachers. The security of your customer and business information is of utmost importance to us, which is why we encourage all of our clients to set up each of their users with a separate log-in ID and password. This allows you to control the access levels of different staff members and to track who has completed certain tasks within the system.

Want to know who dropped Susie from that class? No problem, when you have separate User IDs for each user with access to the system.

Security in ClassJuggler is handled from your Home Base menu under Security Administration and User Administration by assigning administrative user's various Roles. Roles are just groups of Privileges. Each Privilege is assigned an Access Level which lets the system know what a user can do with this privilege. Privileges represent certain screens or capabilities within ClassJuggler. The Access Level assigned to each Privilege tells the system if you can Add, Update, View, and Delete certain types of records.

There are two types of Roles that can be assigned to administrative users to control their access:

  • Pre-Defined System Roles – A set of pre-defined system roles is available for controlling access to various parts of the system. These Roles have various Privileges with pre-set Access Levels assigned to them to cover the most common types of security you will need to assign to your users. To view a list of these pre-defined roles from your Home Base screen, click on "List Roles" and then simply click on each defined role to see a detailed list of privileges within that role.

  • Custom Roles – For even more personalization, you can create Custom Roles. Custom Roles are simply security roles that you create from the full list of available privileges. These roles can be tailored to fit specific jobs and security requirements for the users in your business. To access a full list of available privileges, go to "Reports" and scroll to the bottom to pull up the "Security Roles Worksheet".

Users can be assigned any number of pre-defined system Roles and custom Roles that you have created specifically for your business.

Do you want your Instructors to have access to information on their Students and Classes but not necessarily Billing? No problem…you can easily create a security role for that.

Check out the Online Help Manual from your Home Base screens for detailed information on security and user administration.

10 Things To Do For Earth Day - April 22nd

It's been 43 years since the first Earth Day in 1970. This is a great time of the year to take positive action for ourselves, our fellow humans, and our one and only home... Earth. Here are ten things you can do to make a difference:

  1. Start a compost pile - divert kitchen scraps from the trash heap. Start a garden.
  2. Challenge your family to reduce their trash to one bag a week.
  3. Pledge to start recycling everything you can.
  4. Eat a meal on your deck or patio at least once a week.
  5. Find a friend or work mate to carpool with.
  6. Ditch that gas-guzzler and get that 40+ MPG car. You'll not only save $$ but help the environment and global warming.
  7. Teach your kids the importance of saving energy and cutting down on waste.
  8. Plant a tree.
  9. Swap out all your old light bulbs for CFC's and newer LED lights that can use up to 80% less energy for the same light.
  10. Dance in the rain and celebrate life!
