Marketing Tips for Your School — Part 1

Why Your Business Needs a Facebook Page

It's surprising how few dance studios, swim schools, martial arts schools, gymnastics and other schools do not have a business presence on Facebook or other major social media sites, such as Twitter and Google+. There are likely more advantages to having your business on Facebook and other social sites than you realize.

For instance:

  • Social media sites are a great platform for boosting your business' impression as being current, relevant, and friendly.

  • While every business should have a website, a Facebook or Google+ site is relatively easy to set up; a social media site makes a great leap forward for your business if you don't have a website.

  • Your customers are on these social sites. You can use your Facebook page to communicate to students or parents. Examples: share helpful info about your business - "Hey, guys, tell your friends about our free seminar this Saturday." Or provide tips and motivational thoughts related to your craft – "Check out this great video showing the very same self-defense maneuvers we taught in class last week!" Or use postings as a way to welcome new students.

  • Your prospective customers are on these sites too. You can generate new business by creating posts that others consider valuable enough to share on their own Facebook newsfeed or with others, which can generate "clickthroughs" — prospects clicking the post to learn about your business.

Setting up a social media presence for your business is often easier than you think, requiring little more than filling out forms with info about your business. You can always improve upon your social media site after launch by adding images and becoming more creative in your posting activity. But getting started is important!

If you have social media sites already — or as soon as you set up any — e-mail us to let us know about it. We often provide free promotion for our clients via our ClassJuggler Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google+ pages, telling others about your business or social media sites. And, as they say, "free is a very good price."

News From The Development Team

Accounting System Enhancements

From time to time, we like to take a look at upcoming features of ClassJuggler that we feel could make a big impact on our clients.

One of the most requested features has been the ability to manually post payments and credits against charges. ClassJuggler's internal accounting system was designed from day one to automatically apply payments for you, making it one of the fastest and easiest to use accounting systems available. But we realize that not everyone wants the software to do all the payment splits for them.

So, for many months now, the development team has been quietly working on this enhancement to the accounting system that let's YOU choose how you want to apply payments: manually or automatically.

Keep an eye on your Home Base screen for the full announcement in the coming months.
